I thought the same myself when the boat was advertised last year. It sold for about $900, along with a 253. Maybe that's all he bought it for.

Hi,
Looked at this boat tonight.
He did take the 253 for a glass hull, wooden deck project. The boat is currently outside and holding water which I'm not sure what that would mean for the planks on the bottom between the glass. It appears to Ply planked and I didn't spot any busted ribs (some splits lengthwise around rivets) but the whole inside has been painted with thick paint so with the outside glassed its a bit hard to tell the condition of the planks etc.
Its 14' 9" long, 5' 4" beam & 4' 3" across the top of the transom and 1' 8" from the cav plate to top of the transom. I thought it may be an Everingham but the transom isn't right but possibly it was messed with when it was all glassed? Transom looks to have had ply over it before it was glassed. From the photos on Ebay you can see one bearer cut, probably both would need to done. Hardware is not great.
The glass does seem to be quite thick over the hull.
Skiff, I don't know about that but it could be if you wanted it to? No reverse planking.
Thats my thoughts.
