It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of one of our members Anthony Oates.
Anthony passed away last Friday and will be greatly missed. He was a most affable bloke and a true gentleman.
We will be lesser for his absence as will the whole powerboating community.
From the committee and members of CAWPBA deepest condolences to his family. RIP Anthony.

Re: Vale - Anthony Oates.
So sad to read of this during the week. I knew Anthony well from my time in Formula Ford, so we go back a long way. I had the pleasure of spending some time with Anthony as we poured over his latest acquisition, Assassin Too, at our recent CAWPBA gathering at Eagle Point. He had great enthusiasm and plans for ther restoration and although he had been quite unwell, he felt that he was coming through his illness and was making plans on finishing off the giant skiff. Anthony had a very gentle soul and was a lovely man. We will miss him and the sport is certainly the poorer for his passing.

A fitting tribute at his service yesterday.
