Nostalgia

Postby Greg » 09 May 2014, 20:11

Those were the days: March 1971. Top pic is Vulture, second, of course, Stampede.

You've also gotta love the classic metal on the foreshore.

Not sure Ray. As a matter of fact, I don't even remember taking them. I'd guess at Eppalock, but will stand corrected if someone else knows better. Maybe the 1971 Griffith Cup, which was won by Stampede.

Its interesting to look at the two pics. The first one with vulture there are people walking around and talking etc.
The second pic with stampede all eyes are on the water.
Lucky im standing back checking out the action next to the white hr holden. ;)

Al
Don't mess with Austin 1800s. Wasn't it an 1800 that "should" have won the 1968 London to Sydney marathon? Beaten by a Hillman Hunter! Damn! Fancy anything being beaten by a Hillman Hunter

Dave
So that's you in the bikini?

A mate had an Austin 1800 as his first car in the early 80's, great for doing reverse donuts in the paddock or on salt pans as I remember, like being on the Gee Whiz!
