A Tasmanian experience
Re: A Tasmanian experience
Ahoy and surprise!! Torea is the first to get wet for 2025, and as I get older and reflect on what makes a good day boating I’m happy to report it ticked all the boxes!! Got safely to the ramp and home, boat ran beautifully, tool box not opened, weather good and the most important I didn’t lose any bark off the top of my head, fingers arms or legs, very unusual for me. Cheers

Great to see that the old girl behaved and that the old bloke had a ripping time. Always appreciate and enjoy your posts Chivs!
Re: A Tasmanian experience
What a wonderful looking craft.
Re: A Tasmanian experience
Ahoy all, today was Tomboys turn and I went out for a run on the Derwent River with all my mates! I took a couple of photos on the river a couple show where the wooden boat festival will be held and plenty of room to pack and raft up in!! I also took some video to her performance on the river, and using my method of judging a good boating day I can confirm I got to and home from the ramp safely, didn’t open the tool box and no new wounds to the skin!! Cheers

Re: A Tasmanian experience
Thanks Craig, at this stage the long range forecast for Friday 7 February looks okay so if that’s the case I will put some pics up as Darren said on the Facebook page it can be quite spectacular if the weather is right!! Cheers mate
Re: A Tasmanian experience
Ahoy all, unfortunately the southerly wind picked up today and the river conditions were rough for the parade of sail. Myself and crew still joined in (of course) but got a good soaking for our trouble but stayed in period correct uniform. None of us took any photos but a friend who spied us around the docks did and forwarded to me which I have attached. Cheers

Re: A Tasmanian experience
Hey Capt Chivs, you certainly look the part. Well done. The boat is looking fabulous and the water certanly does seem to be lumpy. Enjoy the festivities & have fun.
Re: A Tasmanian experience
Thanks Captain Carter!! Went out again today for end of festival sail past, unfortunately still a bit breezy and water more than lumpy!!! I am surprised the guy who launched alongside me went out in his $175 k vessel, yes you read correctly if you are interested in a closer look it’s on the Derwent Boat Sales website under used boats.
