I thought that I would quietly go up to Eppalock, run a few laps with the lower gearing in the box, try a couple of props & come on home. So... a hose blew off the gearbox (no damage), the new tacho drive is 1:1 instead of 2:1, steering was bit slack and the water was too calm. With the tacho wound off the dial there was no point in trying my new prop. But someone knowledgeable in the science of wooden boats heard the engine in Heathcote (about 11 km from the lake) and put the word out ...

Anyway, we're good for Goolwa - new tacho drive on the way so might try the new prop at Goolwa if it works out that way. After all its just a day of spirited demonstrations, isn't it? Enjoy the video clip....

Love that video Bob, it's almost as good as the real thing. Engine sounds good, must have been pulling somewhere between 11,000 and 12,000 revs with that new tacho drive.

We're always on the look-out up here Bob, and also on Youtube, so here's another one:

For some reason, these won't embed into the website
