While very nice in the boat but looking messy in the pic, I have some electrics going in at the moment. For the first time since I've owned the boat (2004?) and I think for quite a few years before that, Nova will have an alternator fitted and will have all the instruments working - wow, some of life's little luxuries
Then for new exhausts and a decent prop. I always thought Nova was under-propped before. With the new donk, I definitely reckon it would be with the old prop.
Nova update
Re: Nova update
How close is it Greg? There's nothing like a turn key boat. Looking great so far.
Re: Nova update
Elecs should be finished on Tuesday with maybe a start using the old extractors.
Then get the new extractors made up. Two options there, depending on how much lead time for the preferred maker or the local bloke.
Then the prop, which shouldn't take too long? (set up, HP, boat use, etc) - fit this one - off the shelf . . . . . secret men's business.
Heck, in the end, it's only a ski boat.

Looking good Greg. Its always satisfying seeing your projects as they come together. I like the way you have mounted the alternator... don't believe I have ever seen this before. Keep the photos coming.
Re: Nova update
Well spotted Bob, that's one of those new bluetooth alternators!
Re: Nova update
All you need now Greg is the correct fan for the alternator so it will cool the internals.

I'm guilty of running mine backwards on the skiff. Thought about it but didn't bother as it's temporary. Well semi temporary............ It has been a year or more now lol.
Re: Nova update
Bob, alternator just parked there. A bit of finessing to do, particularly with wildly differing belt sizes.
Andy, this alternator will never work hard enough to need a fan

Re: Nova update
Well, we fired her up today, using the old headers.
Apart from quite a few water leaks in engine cooling plumbing connections, everything worked a treat. Interesting about the water leaks, we actually had to use the bilge pump to empty the hull.
Many thanks to engine builder Al Price and electrician Chris Bullen.
Just a few odds and ends to tidy up now.
