wood boat guru
wood boat guru
Hi i have invested in another project a Everingham it has the reversed plank with a cool 313 poly (got some life out of it and it sounds cranky). The problem i have is upper management wants to go cruising with the tin lids at christmas and the old Everingham needs some love. Freshening the engine is not a problem along with restoring the hardware and upholstery but the wood work may be a bit beyond me. The rough plan is to strip out the engine and hardware then take it to a restoration/repair guru. Is there such a guru? I live in Wagga Wagga and can take the boat any where southern NSW or northern VIC or beyond if i have to, to show such a guru to see what they think. I would have a crack at it my self but time and ability will be a issue. From what i can see there is no split planks, the transom looks OK, two broken ribs, and needs a new deck but the deck frame looks OK, it has some oil stain in the bottom, i spilt some water in it when i was mucking around with the engine and it never leaked out. I am confident the the old girl will live again! PS i wood post some photos but can't work out how to shrink them to a acceptable size.

I reckon Ron Johnson in Woollamia might be an option for you. I've sent you an email.
