Thunda Babe
Re: Thunda Babe
Looks like the water has come up quite a bit. Nice day for it.
Re: Thunda Babe
Its a crazy year Bob. Nearly the end of May and I'm thinking of going for a run today, if not tomorrow.
Re: Thunda Babe
Picked up this right angle drive the other day. Not sure if I'll run it or not. It does give me the option of another drive for a fuel or oil pump if I need it.
The only concern I have is with the distributor eventually filling with oil as my engine will be on the wrong angle for it. I am contemplating packing it with grease as an alternative. Anyone seen a twin spark plug head for a grey haha.

Re: Thunda Babe
Just take the grease cap off and run a line back to the sump, fit a good lip seal at the top and Bob's your neighbor.
Re: Thunda Babe
What he said... Bob's your neighbour and the grease cup bit too.
Re: Thunda Babe
Time to get things ready for the crossflow head. After pulling the current one off I'm pretty confident I'll get a power gain. I feel pretty lucky to have got the current engine to 4500 rpm after seeing the internals. Standard valves, chambers, and pistons.

Ah yes, the happy tacho. I spoke to one previous owner who stated he used to pull 8500 rpm with the grey in this boat. I nearly spat my coffee all over my laptop. If he only new what a grey would really do at those revs. The boat would have looked like a sieve after the explosion of parts.
At least I know my tacho is accurate and tested. Peak Hp for a std grey is 75hp at 4200 rpm, so it all equates sadly to about 80hp currently.
