Sand back and fourth coat today. A bit of experimenting with foam rollers. The overlaps are still giving me a little trouble in spots.

Re: Thunda Babe
I had the same problem Craig, putting enough clear on to get a wet coat without runs. Its a frustrating job thats for sure

It's not runs for me Ray. It's just in spots it seems to rough up when I have overlapped as though that particular spot has tacked off enough before the overlap hits it. It's weird because it hasn't done it on every overlap.
Re: Thunda Babe
You are all probably sick of seeing this thing. Sorry about that. I'm enjoying the work and the learning curve. Anyone else got something on the go?
Sixth coat today. Now for some dry off time and sand. Getting the hang of it and working out what I'm doing wrong.

Re: Thunda Babe
Well it's official. Thunda-Babe and Thunda-Babe 2. Pictures clearly show different trailers and boat rego numbers. Wondering if Thunda-Babe 1 survived.
Thanks Terry Looney.
Thanks Terry Looney.
Re: Thunda Babe
10th coat on. Time to walk away. The 9th coat crinkled up a bit so had to do a sand back then this coat. There's bugger all wind free weather between now and Wagga so I was lucky this morning.
Hoping to get some water time before then. Just a few more jobs left to do. Nothing major though.

Re: Thunda Babe
Made a few things shiny and slippery. Should be good for a few mph more!
Re: Thunda Babe
Looking great! All good to go to Wagga?
Re: Thunda Babe
Just some touch up work on the paint, a clean inside, some wetting out, and some water time. So no not yet Bob lol. She's a runner atleast. Camper gets a test run tomorrow, off to Dargo.
Re: Thunda Babe
Pleasing results today from getting the head flow bench tested. I'm pretty well open to running any cam I want. Theoretically the head is good for 240hp. Now to pick the grind, get the cam done, then mock up the patterns to check the new rockers for proper contact with the valves.
