I coming back home each day as we are only and hour away. Accommodation will be thin on the ground I reckon if you haven't booked now...….or very expensive.

Re: The Paynesville Classic Boat Rally Feb 28th To March 1st 2020
Hi everyone, just a short update and plug for the event.
So far we have 6 entries being:
Reklaw - Bob Walker
Thunder Babe - Craig Allardyce
Invader - Ross Foster
Turbo Fire - Brenda Carter
Posh - Barry and Margaret Jones (Great effort coming from Tassie!)
Dusty - Graham Howard
Are there any other potentials? Do you know of anyone else that is a maybe or hasn't entered as yet? Please pass the word or give them a bump. It would be good if we could get some more.
There will be a separate briefing for our event that isn't listed in the program yet. TBA on that one.
We now have a clear zone to our circuit from the shore with no 5 knot limit. The new area is the approved Gippsland Ports map for our part of the event. It looks to well and truly cover the previous area map we had planned. We are restricted to only 2 boats at a time that must be a minimum of 50m apart as any closer by inland water law you have to do 5knots. All other normal waterways rules will apply. We have asked that other non powerboat entrants be made aware of our area and if possible avoid it.
There are only a few plastics entered at this stage and it is in doubt that they will do the on water powerboat demo's. So it looks to be the woodies taking the stage!
Registration is on the Friday evening but you can alternatively go to the yacht club Sat or Sun Morn if your arriving then.
On a side note Bob Carter has very kindly offered up his residence in Paynesville for a BBQ (BYO meat and drinks) on the Saturday after the days events have finished. I'll attach his email below. Thanks very much Bob for this.
"Just want to let you know and share that we will put on a CAWPBA BBQ at home on the Saturday night. Everyone attending from the club, plus immediate friends are welcome. It will be a bit like the Narrandera BBQ – BYO drinks & meat and we’ll supply bread sauce and salads.
Also if anyone wants to bring their boat home for running repairs or flushing their engine, happy to assist.
I’d prefer this not to go on Facebook, but there may be some members attending but without their boats and of course they are also welcome.
Welcome any feedback & thoughts.
Best regards,
Bob"
Thanks everyone. Hope to see you there. Craig (Woodray). I'll keep posted if there are anymore updates.

Re: The Paynesville Classic Boat Rally Feb 28th To March 1st 2020
There's been a new update which I think will only effect those that cant do 5 knots. See the attached picture. The 5 knot exclusion zone exemption will only apply at the allocated times which means anyone wanted to do an adhoc run (which was allowed in previous discussion with them) will have to adhere to the speed restriction of 5 knots. At this stage this looks to only affect ME bugger it as all others have water pumps. I'm not sure about Posh or Dusty. The exclusion zone is applicable to the access way to the circuit only as previously posted. Please pass on to those not on this forum. Thanks.

Hi everyone - just a reminder about the BBQ on Saturday night at out place. You're all welcome around 6:00 ish - Brenda and I are about 15 minutes from Paynesville at 32 Simpsons Drive Newlands Arm. BYO meat and drinks, we will provide the rest. If you need to flush your engine or do some running repairs, then bring your boat along too. Bob & Brenda.

For all the CAWPBA entries for Paynesville please check the moorings diagram. We are nicely grouped by the looks of it. Car park is a short walk across the road. I have details to post later tonight.
Re: The Paynesville Classic Boat Rally Feb 28th To March 1st 2020
For those entrants that haven't checked their emails here is some more info.
This will be more than likely the last time to confirm you're on the list.
See you there.

Well its done and dusted. A great weekend had by all with a few stories to tell at a later time when we all get together again. Thanks to those that travelled and thanks to Bob and Brenda for hosting Saturday night at their beautiful home. I hope you didn't get too many phone calls about the old dero swagging on your front lawn! Also thanks to Ross Foster, and Bob Carter again who helped with the pre meeting and test run for the circuit and all discussion work with the Paynesville Committee.
Personally I had a great weekend, got to meet some more great people and their boats, and the event went well. Hopefully the next one we can improve on more and I think they will want us back as only one person got in trouble...…………………..
Wrapped in my little boat, it was turn key all weekend, and some of the paint managed to stick this time!
