Well I thought I'd better start a new thread as the cat's out the bag. I posted a bit of work done in "Winter Projects" prior to Narrandera.
Although I'm trying to get going again on the Seacraft, I do get side tracked by this in between projects project.
After the Tacho cacked itself at Lake Hume for the second time I decided to repair a smiths unit and fit that. Fingers crossed there.
My other hurdle is my fat arse is weighing the boat done and causing some porpoising. Seeing as loosing weight or chopping off a leg maybe out of the question, it was time to look elsewhere. The seat is an issue as its getting badly water logged and already weighs a hefty 15 kg. A rethink and rework is in progress with that. And yes, another look at where its leaking in!

A day of discovery. Slowly piecing together it's history. Couldn't believe my luck finding this pic.
Re: Thunda Babe
Well that should be a little lighter. Temporary fix till I work out which way to go with everything around it.
Re: Thunda Babe
Superb day. New tacho calibration checked against multimeter and is spot on......... Flat out 4500. Lots more work to do. Good day anyway to wet it out and to contemplate my naval.
Re: Thunda Babe
Where was this taken, looks superb!!
Re: Thunda Babe
Glenmaggie Ray. Was a ripper day.
Re: Thunda Babe
Started setting up for a dry exhaust so I can do some testing of fuel mixtures to see if I can extract a few more neddies out of this engine. Good find in the process as I need to relocate the fuel rail away from the exhaust; still more crap in the fuel rail ending up in the carb inlets. Gave it a good rodding out and hopefully that will sort that issue.
Re: Thunda Babe
Set up engine pipes and fitted sensor bungs. Have to work out some heat protection for the deck. I am now in ear plug territory.
Re: Thunda Babe
How about a motorbike muffler shield on each pipe [low side ] between deck and pipe. This will direct cold air to lower section. Maybe something small [ monkey bike ].
Doc.

Re: Thunda Babe
Yes Craig also oven mitten territory!!!! Ask pigeon about his third degree hand burns using the exhausts as handles after a run!
Beware and good luck with the muscle memory!
