Hey Guys, I am working on the cooling system for the boat today and wondered if anyone has any ideas or suggestions. It's not running a heat exchanger or thermostat so I would like to be able to control the flow to control the engine temp ,

Good news about the hydro. Looking forward to some pics.
Re the cooling system, have you done a search here? I'm pretty sure there has been some discussion on the subject over the years.

Thanks Greg, I learned some more history on the hydro yesterday and will post once it's sitting in my shed.
Thanks for the advice as never crossed my mind to search our site. Will post some updated pics of the boat later today as it's getting close to wetting its bum .

Ski Hi Update; Well I have managed to spend 3 full days working on the boat . I have completed all the wiring now with the exception of a sound system of which I am in two minds as to whether I really need one!!!!
Pipes are in for the final time as is the fuel tank, fuelled it up today and ran it without any signs of leaks.
Centre console is in complete with gauges although the old smiths oil gauge is only there to fill a hole as I’m looking for a clock for that particular spot.
Bilge pumps are all connected and are activated individually by two switches in the centre console pocket.
With all that done it is very close to putting it on the trailer and in the water for a test run with the exception of the deck and seat coverings of which I am chasing some advice.
- Is it better to deck the boat while at ground level and then test run it or test run and then deck it???
As a side question can anyone identify the rocker cover I managed to pick up as it doesn’t have any branding on it. It has ample clearance for the roller rockers which is a bonus, the breathers are mooneyes of which I fitted.

Re: 16ft Boesch Design Restoration
Hey Damo, looking good....all quality. Ive got a Ski Hi as well running a 186 with raw water cooling through two pickups just in front of the cav plate. Water goes through a non return to water pump, through sump, through engine and out the exhaust. the only flow restrictors are the plumbing fittings which are 1/2" It runs about 60 degrees and ive never had any overheating issues at all. mind you i'm not running a supercharger either. Hey Gents, As you can see I have been away for quite some time due to work commitments but am back in the land of OZ thank God!!!!
Iv'e been busy over the last two weeks as have been hanging out to play with the boat again
So the Steering's in and working, rudder, skeg, cav plate ect have also been installed. Decks on and am currently finishing of the Sheoak timber planking on the deck.
The planks were all butterflied and are a mirror image of each other except for the middle one obviously.
Here's a few pics

Re: 16ft Boesch Design Restoration
Hey Guys, Did some more on the boat over the weekend. I have laid and dressed all of the Sheoak Decking and tacked up a ski pole.
With regards to filling between the boards I think I might just mix up some dark sawdust and epoxy and pour this in. I am open to any suggestions as haven't done anything like this before.
Again if anyone has any suggestions for the ski pole please let me know as its only tacked together atm and i'm not really sure I like it!!
