NIGHTMARE

Postby Greg » 25 Feb 2015, 20:19

Introducing NIGHTMARE, from the Lemin stable.

It looks so good Ken, very different to when I last saw it poked away in that shed. A credit to you.

Nice use of a CAWPBA sticker Ken, and an even better use of your time, you might have to go into business.

Thanks for your comments , the boat has been sitting for about 25 years the date the battery was put in was 1983 so it must have been out of the water since 1990 . The motor had a reco but i could only turn it 1/4 turn so i resisted the temptation to to to try the starter and pulled the heads off . It had a piece of rust scale between the piston and valve in one bore bits of scale in a couple of oathers . Cleaned it all out ,checked for any seized valves and put it back together . The fuel pump was replaced and a full carby kit fitted .Couldn't wait any longer so i connected the battery put the fuel line into a 5 lit tin poured some fuel boun the carby and shorted across the starter with a screwdriver . It fired up instantly and frighened the crap out of me , with no exhaust manifolds the whole of Teesdale must have heard it . It has a interesting water pump generator set up ,the pump came in a box in pieces and was told you could not get parts for it .It is a sherwood brass company pump with twin impellers and a mechanical seal . I hit the computer and found the drawings with all the part numbers listed but it seemed like they don't sell direct to public so i found a US sight on ebay with sheerwood pump parts listed contacted them giving all the part numbers ,he ordered them for me and listed them with a buy it now price and i had them in eight days ,they make the ausy sellers seem slack . Now for the test Greg has sent me instructions to down load pictures so here's hoping .
