Some of you might have seen this pic.
I purchased this old lathe a few months ago and have just started fixing it up so a can do some machining work for the boat.
What's another project I said to myself. haha.
Its an early 50's Mcpherson Lathe built in Australia. It is 3ft between centres, 10" swing, 2" bore.
All up it has some expected wear and needs a bloody good clean. Nothing that isn't fixable.
So far the tailstock, carriage and bed, and cross slide are all completed bar the compound slide needing a new thread and nut, and both slides needing new tapered gibb strips. Head stock bearings are good.
Next job is to tackle the apron and feed gearbox's.
