How to create a link to another site - eg E-Bay

Postby Thommo » 27 Feb 2012, 18:33

Gday All

To create a link to an e-bay item for instance.

First, Click the 'POST REPLY' to add to an existing topic, or, 'NEW TOPIC' to start your own.
Add the text you want, as you do now, in the Message Body (text box)

To create the link, go to the exact page you want to create a link to. (E-Bay Item, another site or whatever)
Look at the top of your screen to find the address to that page,
It will look like this if you are reading this page  viewtopic.etc etc
Simply LEFT CLICK among the letters of the address you want to link to, it will then appear in a blue box.
Then RIGHT CLICK with your mouse, and select COPY from the list.
You have captured the address

Return to your message you have written, set the blinking cursor to where you want your link to appear (next line down)
RIGHT CLICK your mouse, select PASTE.

Done ;)

Cheers
Jeff

Hey Thommo, another way of doing it is by right clicking the ebay page and selecting "send link" an email page will appear then simply copy and paste the link onto the reply page, i find that when you click on the link it takes you directly to ebay... no need to open it separately !! I know i do things a bit different but it works. Same with posting pictures, if i email the photo to myself windows automaticly shinks it to a size the bulliten board will accept. hope this makes sense and doesn't confuse people. Ray
