Ahoy there,
I'm after a velvet drive or similar with 1 to 1 ratio, also the bell housing to suit a small block chev and fly wheel.
Any assistance from you e bay groupies or swap meet lurkers will be rewarded suitably.
Thanks Chris

Its a shame you didnt open your mouth earlier. Im pretty sure I have a 1;1 Paragon here. james could have chucked it on the truck when he left my place yesterday.
Re: Borg warner or similar velvet drive 1 to 1 ratio
Are you pretty sure or do you actually have one? James, (aka as Stuart?) the way he has been affected by the classic wooden boat addiction I reckon will be back up your way when you might want to off load more of your collection.
Anyway yeah I have been stuffing around with various ideas and am convinced I want a gear box, so Dave I would be happy to buy the Paragon off you if you have one, I am actually running one in Tomboy!
Please e mail me with what you got to chrischivers35@hotmail.com thanks, Chris

I'll look around when I get a chance. If you are planning on running one in torea just remember the engine will move forward. A couple of boats that I've driven done this way have been pigs in the water.
Re: Borg warner or similar velvet drive 1 to 1 ratio
Yeah that what I was thinking until your bit of advice. The plan was to be able to stop and manouvre due to the water traffic at various events I wanted to show it, and launching at various sites and retrieval ease. Perhaps back to the drawing board as I have no experience with a small light weight boat.
Thanks again, Chris.
Thanks again, Chris.

skewnail the old bracket off Tomboy (and the blueband merc) onto the transom and use that for your low speed maneuvering Hookster
Re: Borg warner or similar velvet drive 1 to 1 ratio
I put a velvet drive in the Binx that i am restoring but we redrilled the hole in the bottom so that the engine was in the same place as before. But the Binx is 17.6 long and dont think that you could do it in a 16 foot boat.

So is it an age thing Paul? I was always told "Gentleman go in reverse" (be clean Hookster)
In Tasy I often do not have the luxury of shutting down before running up the grassy bank/beach. Particularly at launching ramps, however it will be motivation to keep the weight off to be agile enough to scramble out of the cockpit to fend of or paddle in. Or perhaps I could find some grand kids to that for me
Chris.

It must be a age thing as i want to back of the bank and not get my feet wet. The Hammond i am doing at the moment didnt have a box in it but i will be putting one in but that is a 17.5 rearmount so it will be not to much trouble i hope.
