Jon, Neil,
I have a mate who's just started a new hot rod, and he's using something that might be suitable. How about a 5.3 (LS1) with an electric motor attached (comes out in a GM Hybrid truck) you can make all the noise you need then sneak away real quiet and innocent like.
I'm sure Toyota make that V8 with one of those things on the back as well Neil.

Alan.

Brian,
There is another way...
Going to try and stuff a 1UZ and Supra 5 speed in there.
Its going to be tight but after the shoe horn job I did on Mystress I think I'm getting pretty good at it.

Jon,
Why not go the whole hog and put a Merlin in there. I'm sure Dave will lend you his...

Cheers!

Neil

Obviously there is a bit of boredome out there, when you guys get to meet and KNOW the Hookster (like I do) watch out, anything and everything is possible. Watch out for the floating ute at Narrandera this year!

PS Hookster, I might know where I can get a Toyota Crown engine with 4 on the tree so you can run a bench seat in the mother, A!

Will the ute be floating coz the brakes have failed on the boatramp? Or do they normally sink??? I suppose it then becomes a fairly useful Ford anchor... Might be handy if the NSW Waterways people decide to pay a visit to Narrandera this year...

Alan, I like your idea, but I would be more inclined to sneak up on someone electrically, then let rip with a good ole series of petro-chemical explosions...hmmm, got me thinking...

Neil's on the money with the Merlin engine though, maybe I could get my name up in lights as the 2011 winner of the Darwin Award (if you don't know what the darwin awards are, google it. My favourite is the guy who put a jet motor onto the roof of a 60's Impala)

Chivs, don't let the cat out of the bag for god's sake...I have been tamed, found religion, chucked my job in to become a pre-school teacher, and am seriously considering selling all my V8 stuff and getting a couple of early 80's Volvos again.

 A?

Ahoy Nool, more likely someone has challenged the Hookster or made a wager the ute won't float for their lunch money!

Absolutely Greg, the ride so far has been nothing but pleasing. I always find myself having to explain to my wife why I am tapping away on the computer with this stupid grin on my face :)
