Power Boat Windscreen Frames

Does anyone have a set of used windscreen frames - preferably chromed ones that they want to sell? New ones are way too expensive.

I've also considered using a pair of replica Brooklands racing car windscreens used on Cobra replica's/Healeys/MG's etc. They're way cheaper but smaller and don't look particularly sturdy with only a two point mount.

Any feedback would be appreciated please.

Regards, Gary.

I managed to source a great vintage set this week on eBays US website - a huge variety of other great vintage/used wooden powerboat hardware is for sale there. Beware though, the Oz GST component was still calculated at 10% of everything including the US International Post fee.

As a footnote to my last post about the windscreen frame purchased in the US, it appears they were made of diecast (so brittle) and not packed properly for international post...so shattered in the box.

Luckily I found someone here skilled at welding/repairing alloy engine blocks. He fabricated a perfect replica part from aluminium and he soldered...not welded the other broken part with solder rich in cadmium. Apparently diecast doesn't like traditional welding but responds well to soldering.

These frames were made by Perko in the US circa the 1940's.
