I paid 750 for the plastic one on the Hammond.

If this company is a small manufacturer of niche low volume items, I don't think the cost is unreasonable at all.
the frames would emerge as rough castings that would then need hours of grinding, sanding, polishing and then plating all done by hand.
Paul might be able to give some idea of how many hours would be involved....
labour is not cheap. if they were mass produced by an automated process in china, then you could argue that they are too expensive but that's not the case. they are hand made here.
certainly not a "rip off" in my mind.

I was luckey enough for a club member from SA to spot a set on gumtree for me . They have fitted to the original holes but har to sand the mounting surfaces to fit the deck angle .The old boat looks more like a sunday cruiser than a race boat ,hopefully i can control my foot and drive it like one .
