Marine ply in Melbourne or environs

Hi all,
I need a piece of Marine Ply about 40cm square. I need to replace the top piece on Grumpy's Cav plate and don't really want to pay $200 for a whole sheet when I only need such a little piece.

I got out the verniers and the old ply was 7.6 mm thick so anything around that thickness. Wood coloured ply? Not sure if colour matters as it might end up varnished, red-stained or painted?

Nick, have some 8mm (5/16") offcuts you can hack a piece off if you want, give me a call if you want some.
