Hi, for what it's worth i agree with your sentiments with one small exception, i've spoken to a few people now who are not club members but had been browse our website looking for boats to buy with the intension of joining when something presents itself, although most things that wind up on the BB come from ebay or are otherwise advertised elsewhere they sort of see this as a central viewing portal, also reading our opinions on whats for sale. On another tack i've got into the habit of emailing sellers on ebay to recomend our club to prospective buyers who may not otherwise know of our exsistance telling them of the wealth of experience and knowllege in restorations and boat identification. By doing this there is a possibility of picking up new members, and on one occasion the seller said if the boat didn't sell he would join. As i said just my thoughts. Ray

Best way is to have the sale listed on main site but no contact. details or phone number and have all details on members page or just dont give. the contact details but list price. That way they must contact a member for details. Ross

All good comments thanks guys...but it still simply boils down to the matter of someone just shelling out 50 bucks doesn't it? :) Then everyone's a winner.

Re posting boats for sale with a view to possibly getting another new member fully tooled up with their woody in tow, I'm all for it...I would probably post it in members only for a week or so to let the paid up club members have first crack, then post it in the general area where anyone can see it - if no members want it.
