Genuine Lewis Project - Torea

Postby Bob Vic » 29 Apr 2011, 20:12

Torea is a genuine Lewis twin cockpit runabout, built 1964 and is for sale. I'm taking on another boat project so need to free up some shed space. I also want to offer the boat to club members first... no takers and I'll place on eBay.

This is a genuine sale and I only seek to recover my purchase price, which was very reasonable.

I'm selling Torea as is. Hull only, there is no trailer, no engine and some hardware.

Torea is very sound - planks and ribs are all in very sound condition as is the transom. The hull is rot free. The deck was removed before I bought the boat, but the all deck frames are included, most are in situ. Engine bearers are included as are the trailer bearers.

If you are looking for a genuine Lewis to restore, Torea is a very sound, solid and quality base to begin your project. This project is a much easier restoration than Turbo Fire which required 8 planks, transom etc, etc. Pics below are was/is shots.

Call me on 0418 101 626 or email me bobcarter@connexionpr.com.au for more details or to purchase.

There are solutions Ray ... you could make the shed bigger or I could make the boat smaller!

Hey Ross - ever met the guy who said "I wish I'd built my shed smaller?" Doesn't matter what you build it's never big enough.

Torea is sold and is going to a very good home in the club. No other details frrom me - I'll let the new owner tell the world when he (or she) is ready to do so. :D

Stay tuned to see my new project! ;)
