Ray, to use the NGK $5 spark plug, you remove the high tension connector and replace it with something from current century. Plug and connector cheaper than one spark plug and available where you are going to be running your boat.

I know what you mean Andy, doesn't hurt to have a look before i go down that path. The spare outboard that came in the package has newer style plugs, i'll just have to solder new plug leads at the coils

The other consideration is that the more modern plugs are probably 'light years' better technology than the old design
Tho the period look might be what your after
