Clinker in Adelaide

This is for sale in the Adelaide hills.
Ply clinker 16ft 4in long, 6ft beam. 6 cylinder MOWOG engine with a twin carb DGM marine manifold.
The transom has a very pronounced curve out from the sides to the middle that I haven't seen before. I've tried to show it in the photos. The hull looks sound but the deck is shot.

Thanks Ross. So equivalent size to a Holden 161 Red motor.
He's keen to sell because he is under pressure to get it out of the front yard as it's sitting just off the road.

Think you will find its the "blue streak" 2400cc made in Aus for the Austin Freeway/Wolseley 24/80. Same size as 149c.i.

Thanks Alan. I think it's interesting that it has purpose made marinising set up on it, not something I would've thought was readily available?

But who used to do those transoms?

I haven't seen a transom like that here before. Why would someone go to the trouble of using an Austin/Wolseley engine with proper marinising in Australia when Holden or Ford would've been easier to get, and cheaper you'd think?

The transom might be an age thing. I've noticed my transom has bulged a bit over the years

But what about your boat Greg.

Not sure Dave but I think they made that engine in SA (I'm blaming you guys anyway) I think they made a little bit more power than the standard grey at the time.
