Wooden Clinker in SA
Re: Wooden Clinker in SA
Took this one for a spin a couple of weeks ago at Goolwa as my father is keen to have his own wooden boat for Narrandera this year.
The inside of the hull looks pretty good and is still timber that just needs revarnishing, the outside of the hull has been glassed/and or epoxied and looks quite uneven on the bottom. The deck has been 2 packed black but you can still see the lines which are in the same design as those on the deck of Paul's Hammond. It went well but I think the change from dog clutch to soft clutch has moved the motor weight a bit too far forward so it was more nose heavy at low speed than they are usually, once at speed it was ok.
Depends what you are after, its a ready to go wooden power boat that didn't seem to leak too much and apparently hadn't been in the water for awhile.
We didn't buy it but have picked up a project to get ready for Narrandera but more on that later.

I remember this boat from back in the late 90's. It doesn't seem to have changed at all since then. I think it was called Andiah.
Did you pick up on the Everingham advertised below it. It looks like it's a timber boat by the plank extensions past the transom, but all the ribs have been removed and, I dare say, everything has been covered in glass.

Had seen it on Gumtree but noticed the same things as you so didn't post it.
