Claims to be a Chris Craft?

This timber boat claims to be a 40's Chris Craft, but looks totally unlike one. I guess he couldn't call it a Lewis because the sides are flat? It might be a Chris-Craft kit boat with all australian running gear, it is interesting but to far away. Glenn.

I am no expert but it doesn't look like a Chris Craft to me.The bloke said he looked for plates etc to find its origin but found none.Chris Crafts have indicators all over them to denote their origins.Not sure if I have ever seen one with left hand drive either?
People like to mention Chris Craft to add the dollars to the sale.
Just my humble opinion of course.

I checked and most Chris Crafts pre 1940's were left hand drive.

Sold to the highest bidder for the princely sum of $1800. I met the guy yesterday arvo and had a look at the boat....For the sake of the purchaser I hope it is a Chris Craft, otherwise they've just bought a farily expensive Dodge motor with decent manifolds The guy who is selling the boat is a funny bloke, as the buyer will no doubt get to experience He had some very similar e-bay stories to mine...the classic one was where he bought a Ford AU ute in Brisbane with 238000km on the clock, but strangely enough when he flew up to pick it up it had jumped up to 438000km In true ebay spirit he still went ahead with the purchase and drove it home
