Hi guys i bought the hammond called Deborah after some talking with the owner he decided to throw the motor and gearbox in aswell so it ended up being a complete boat. I think that when he told me that the boat ran a ford 427 with 6 carbys i had to have it.

No Dave not for a while i have got Ron picking it up and them he can start work on it.
I got incontact with a couple of old chaps that know about the boat they have got the original photos and video of it on the water.
One chap tels me that the owner orders the motor from the states and then sent it to Keith black and had more work done to it and he told me it had 700hp. he said that the boat ran over 70 mph.

hey paul. nice project, how far are you going to go with this one? is it a mid mount or v drive?? she would be a wild ride with 700hp and a mid mount. even with a v drive it would be boarding on insane. get some pics up once the projects rolling. its great to see the progress when they get restored.

Brian
The boat is a rear mount through a gearbox to a v drive you loose a bit of hp with the gearbox but i think that it will be ok for a ski boat. ;) The boat original had 13.1 compression but the chap i bought it of had it rebored and had put it down to about 10.1 so i may loose a bit of hp there will be enough left.I dont know how far it will go untill it gets to Rons house next week but it will be resored properly.

Ok, update on the hammond.
No as good as we all think , the boat will need 8 planks there is rot on the front under the deck the keel looks good, will start work on it soon.
