Crackerbox Project - Nearly Finished

Postby Bob Vic » 09 Mar 2014, 00:04

Gentleman’s Racer – Glen L Design Crackerbox

This is a near complete, new build project comprising Glen L designed hull plus Escort trailer. Trailer is currently registered in Victoria.

Project boat was built in Melbourne using the best quality marine grade timber, epoxy adhesive and marine finishes. All that is required to finish off the hull is the deck, (you will need to purchase the ply) then fit out engine, hardware & upholstery. Hull loa is approx. 15’.

All the hard work has been done. You get what you see in these photos. Also included in the sale are the Glen L plans, rudder, fuel tank plus a complete set of photos shot during construction. More information about the design and photos of completed boats built in the US and elsewhere can be found here http://www.glen-l.com/designs/inboard/crackerbox.html

This is a genuine sale. I no longer have the space for this project, so it needs to find a new home. It is being listed here initially to give CAWPBA members and CAWPBA followers the first opportunity to purchase. Asking price for project hull and combined is $8200, which is below cost of materials.
Boat is currently in East Gippsland but could be delivered to purchaser in Melbourne. Assistance also available to interstate buyers.

For more information call me on 0418 101 626, email me at bobcarter@connexionpr.com.au or PM me.

Robert Bob bobby mate! No room in the roof. A?

Dear prospective buyer check it's out of roof first otherwise make sure you are shed fit and enjoy heights!

Goodluck Bob you know you had too many boats and not enough time! Cheers

Chivs - monkey man! The man with the rare privilege of having clambered around in my roof rack. I'm actually looking forward to getting the Glen L out of the rack and in the hands of a new owner so that I can dismantle the rack altogether.

You're definitely correct about having too many boats, Chris. (My wife is right.) :?

Sadly there has been zero contact here so I've listed it on eBay. If you are interested, I'm happy to negotiate... I've dropped the price on eBay as I really want to move this fine boat along to a new home.

The Glen L would be an easy winter project and you could be on the water for Narrandera this year!

Good luck with the sale bob. Im trying to sell a honda cbr 600 atm for $3000. I cant even get a caller.
These boats are hard to sell at the best of times.
How do you think I feel about the worth of my collection. Esepecially after ive convinced my wife that every single one of them was a bargain.

One down and one to go.

The Glen L Crackerbox project has found a new home...

I'm still very keen to see Rebound with a new owner. So if you want a classic, and iconic V8 Aussie racing skiff (a 1968 Lewis with 327 Chev) this is your opportunity. Boat is in exact same condition as run (was it a race?) at the Goolwa 2014 Aquafest. PM me, call me 0418 101 626 or email me bobcarter@connexionpr.com.au Price is very reasonable & affordable.
