Goodlear clinker

Postby Greg » 29 Jan 2014, 07:36

Again, club members get first look.

A late 50's Goodlear runabout is being offered for sale. In the owner's words:

The boat and all the associated bits, including the engine (Corvette, 1964-1967 casting number of 3892657), vintage Edelbrock C28 inlet manifold and 2 X Carter 4 barrels(obviously need a rebuild) and the 2 x genuine air cleaners, 2 blade menkins prop - and all the other bits. The previous owner tells us that the engine was originally bought from Bill Warner in Sydney many many years ago when the boat was built/repowered. Engine is dry sumped.

There are four split planks, two on the bottom and two higher. There is also a split in the transom. No rot could be found in the boat.

Call Scott at Temora. Mobile number is 0431940295.

Probably looking at $7 - $10,000 range

More photos are available. Let me know and I will forward them to you.

Be interesting to know the engine numbers for that block and the head casting numbers.
According to my book of Chevy casting numbers that block could be a 1966 - 67, 327, 350 or even 302!
