Hi Guys, thaught i would give Taurus's trailer a birthday before taking it to the Willy rod and custom show on the weekend, got the old wheel bearings off thinking they would be holden or ford both of which i have kits for only to find it's neither. It's holden 13" stud pattern but the bearing has a smaller inside diameter as well as looking nothing like the holden /ford units. A hint could be the grease cap appears to be a screw on affair. As usual any help greatly appreciated. Cheers Ray

Ray,
Take bearings to a Bearing Shop or Farm Machinery work shop.

i know the ones and couldnt buy them from an auto place, the bearing place had some that were about 1mm different in diametre but worked a treat. personally im a big believer in having trailers that are easy to get parts for, certainly nice when ya throw a wheel down the road and need to get home. id also suggest falcon pattern because it seems any time ive needed bearings they are the only ones the shop have.

i look forward to seeing this boat, read abit about it so would like to see it, ive got a lewis skiff im ready to move on if you are after a cheap one.

Thanks guys, heading for a bearing shop tomorrow. Hey Brian might need to have a chat about that skiff, ordering the shed tomorrow, couple of weeks after that will have room to put a new project. Can ya email some pics? cheers Ray

The bearing you have may well be early fe holden, they have the same bearings as fx-fj, the later fe holden then shared the same as latter holdens.

That would explain the holden stud pattern, do they still make bearings for them?

They will be fj for sure. They are about four times the price of normal holden bearings.

CBC do a FJ front wheel bearing kit and although they're more expensive than the standard Holden trailer bearings from Supercheap, they're cheaper than buying the bearings individually from a bearing place.
