Vanguard marine engine

Postby rayza1 » 21 Jun 2021, 20:09

Hi brains trust, looking for some information on a very recent purchase. I picked up what looks to be a factory marinised Standard Vanguard engine. The marinising gear is From Nichols, has anyone heard of them? I was told the engine series is from the late 40's early 50's, it's dry sumped and has alloy manifolds and rocker cover as well as twin carbs. The motor seems to have great compession and is mostly all there although it is missing the oil pump.

Good thought Ross. I think you mean Ski-Time. Not the one, though.

Here's a pic of Ski-Time's engine
