Like me, you have probably been baffled by the code stamped on the boss of Austral props. To clarify I emailed the good people at Austral and received this helpful response....

Typical numbering is 12JRSJ
This means 12" diameter ,J = 15" pitch, R = RH rotation (clockwise), S = Supercup and final J = 1" Morse standard bore.
Pitch codes are as follows
F=12, H=13, I=14, J=15 and K=16
Bore codes are
H=1"SAE, J=1"Morse, K=1.125"SAE

Now the mystery is solved.

Talking with Ross and we came across an Austral prop in my prop stash with the pitch code G which was not covered off in the listing supplied by Austral. I got in touch with Austral today and it seems they made an error with the info supplied to me back in 2016 & posted above.

The correct code is as follows... F = 11”” and G = 12 Now I can sleep at night.
