And if that attractive young lady was say 20 in 1955, today she would be 80!

Unfortunatley this lovely lady passed away last year but she must have been a pretty Gutsy Gal as I have been told by her son that she piloted Satan to quite a few champoionships 8-) 8-) "very cool"

Sorry to hear that Damo. What an amazing woman to have successfully raced a hydroplane in this era. Remarkable!

I agree, Her son told me the last time she ever raced it was in Bunbury. While she was at full noise the prop shaft worked loose from the motor at resulting in the shaft tearing the log out from the bottom of the boat. He said he remembers his mother swimming back to shore and the recovery of the boat off the bottom of the ocean  This story is backed up by a very bent and repaired shaft log that came with the boat, I will post a pic in an hour or so, Cheers!!!

Repairs shaft log!! Interestingly it has a swivel ball joint at the shaft end.

Ill never forget Bert Everinghams comment when racing legend Grace Walker was out on Kogarah bay piloting Dianne.
He said it was the only boat out there with two stuffing boxes.
Imagine saying that today.
