Ok, dumb question time. When running Pagan at Goolwa, I had problems with fuel pushing past the needles and seats of the Amals I want to run a pressure regulator which I can get down to 1 psi. my question is, how much fuel volume will I lose, will I still get enough volume at high revs to stop the engine leaning out? I've never mucked about with a reg so I don't really know how they work. cheers Ray

An inline one should still let plenty through , don't for get the carbs you have were made for motor bikes with gravity feed.

A quality Regulator will allow adequate flow through for fuel ratio requirements. You can run up to 2 1/2 lbs without any trouble with those carbs.

Fitted Pagan up with a fuel reg yesterday which is set at 1/2 LB fuel pressure and so far so good. The fuel is no longer passing by the needles and that seems to be right through the rev range although that's not under load. I noticed that with it set any higher it would still pass a small amount. We'll see how it goes on the water. Thanks all for the advice
