Thanks Damo, I didn't want the dash with lights and switches so they are semi hidden. I just have the original gauges, walnut steering wheel and a starter button. I know that it whole package is far from an original restoration but it could be worse with the boat left to rot in the paddock. Cheers chris

Love it Chris, I always try to think outside of the box or in your case inside the box ;). I'm doing the same at the moment as i'm hiding the sound system in the boat so it cant be seen. With regards to originallity on these boats it all depends on the boat, mine was a week away from being a bonfire and miising most of its bits so I figue why not. These boats evloved from new owner to new owner and from year to year so I am not to stressed about it although if it had racing history I would probably take it back to original.

Hello all , have just returned after six weeks away from a large work project we have just completed. Man l missed the smell of stale fuel, anyway did some work on the boat today and went and picked up some parts for the sons car . Well i got talking to a mate of mine which is into old speedway stuff. Well F#%k me if he didn't start talking about this old boat he's just been given but only wants the motor out of it . Trying not to be too excited I asked him for a description, well it's got a V8 sidevalve with triple carbs , separate pipes , with big pontoons either side with old racing numbers paineon each side . Well I ended up scoring the boat it seems I just have to come up with another engine for him. The boats a fair distance away but am keen to pick it up soon , l will keep you all posted.
