Hey Fellas, Sorry about the 5 month hiatus as between work and kids i have been very busy but now some normality has returned this end I have started playing with the boat again :D :D . The engine is all but finished and just about ready for bench testing which I'm very much looking forward to. (pic below 8-) ). Guys I do need some help with a question I have before I paint the underside of the boat which pertains to the wooden strip underneath. In nearly every boat I've seen this strip runs along the waterline whereas mine runs on the join that is closet to the bottom ply of the boat ( pic below )which has apparently always been that way. Question: Is mine wrong or just different??? As you know any help is greatly received, Cheers!!!

Hey Dags, Its always good to catch up with someone who's into old woodys as they are few and far between over here in the west. I work in Perth (Welshpool ) during the week and live down Bunbury way. It would be good to catch up and have a yarn either in Perth or if your down my way, you can get me on my mobile anytime, Cheers 0417 865 419 .

Hey Fellas, managed to get some shed (beer) time Friday night and Sat morning, managed to get the gunnel cut and fitted. It looks huge atm :o but there's heaps of green underneath and once I take the shoulder off it it should look ok. BLOODY solid though!!!!!! I made it 10mm bigger than the original to help cover one of the repairs on the side along with a 50mm wide ribbon of paint underneath the gunnel this repair will now be hidden and still show off enough timber. As you can see in the last pic, I started to remove some of the green off the bottom of the gunnel but was suffering the effects of PTBI ( Post Traumatic Beer Intake)  quite badly so have left it for later

Nice bit of plumbing there Damo, I've had a bit of a hiatus myself, the first thing I'll do when I get home this arvo is take a damn photo of those screen brackets and text it to you, then I might have a long distance beer with you on the phone, cheers, Jon.

Hey Guys, Got to spend some time on the boat today and finally got the base coat laid down, I will apply the final colour and clear coats this weekend coming. All in all it didn't turn out too bad I think considering.

G'day Fellas!!!
Well after six months of unscrewing   and six months of screwing :D :D :D sorry I meant   , filling and sanding   more filling and sanding   I have finally laid down the final coats on the boat. Tomorrow it gets the 2000 grit sand and then a final polish. Although it may look blue its a very very bright purple in the sun, paint is Morpheous . I am very happy with the result and as such having a deserved beer. I will turn the boat over shortly and install the deck, let me know what u think guys!!!
