Hi Ho from sunny Hobart,
What have I bought.....could be a 50's American design ? But not conviced it was built in the 50's, may have come from WA ?
Has a period correct trailer I think.....Ford flathead side valve engine.....period correct steering wheel, cav plates and chrome work.
Did not come with a prop......what size prop pitch etc do I try first.
Lots more questions than answers, would appreciate any info or best guesses.
In anticipation
Stuart
Ps thanks Chivs for posting the pictures when you post them.....stay tuned !
Hull Identification, History....prop size....Etc.
Re: Hull Identification, History....prop size....Etc.
What pictures? In fact what boat!
Checked the garage in the last 10 minutes or so, allegedly possession is nine tenths of the law, yeah!
Seriously dont have card reader at home so might be a small delay in sorting photos, but worth the wait to view an unusual vessel.
PS what do you need a prop for? When youve got em you just loose them anyway!
Is this another boat that should be painted yellow, cheers boys!

The ski hooks on the transom dont appear to be period correct!

Abandoned and derelict?
Re: Hull Identification, History....prop size....Etc.
Very nice!!!
Tassie getting more boats to replace that huon pine that was cut and sold over the years!
No new timber to make new ones is there.
and I would think that prop size woud be same as a 202 would use- 11-11 or 11-12 3 blade
or may be a 2 blade 10.5 x 13

Re: Hull Identification, History....prop size....Etc.
Still the question remains, what haven't you bought Stuart?
Re: Hull Identification, History....prop size....Etc.
Speculating on what else may be in the vault does not answer the questions at hand.
Great photos, thanks Chivs......Design, history , constructive mechanical advice etc. anything similar out there?
Is there anyone who can lend me a prop to test or is that too much to ask given my recent history ?
Stuart
