Howdy all, just fitted a hatch over the engine in Bullitt and was wondering if there was a low profile dizzy available, so I don't have to cut extra out of the hatch to accommodate the dizzy cap and leads? I have seen the Mercruiser style dizzys with the leads coming out of the side of the cap - do they fit a small block Chev? Any solutions anyone? Cheers me harty's - Jon.

Offset Distributor Drives $$$$$$. Accel made a electronic distributor which wasn't very tall. Give me some measurements . I will check with what i have.

Doc I have 150mm clearance from the dizzy seat on the inlet manifold to the underside of the hatch cover. I checked out the other option of a crab style cap on later model Mallory dizzys, and to do that I have to go full electronic ignition with a module and crank sensor, which is pretty pricey

Accel f42049 Electronic from manifold surface to top of right angle boot coil. Measures 175mm, bugger but the cheapest way out-any chev dist.plus a front alloy tming cover to suit a fuel injection pump. Have the dist. shaft cut and internal shaft cut to size and filed to hex key to match front plate. Should pickup plate for $150. Ford flatheads had this conversion in the 60's with late dist. The dist. runs in line with the cam.

We'll have to keep looking Doc, last time I saw it there was a water pump in the front cover. We might have to convince him to put a ford in it?

How about one these right angled dizzy but minus the injection bit?
Dunno how pricey or available though.
