Very happy with the rudder although I would have to say that the handling seemed to be unchanged. On the calm water Saturday I first thought it may have a bit twitchy and was concerned it may have had too much leading edge.... certainly it has more leading edge than the old one. But in the choppy water Sunday it was perfect. If anything the steering cables need a bit of a tighten up on the turnbuckle before the next run and that should make the steering a bit more precise. Having said all of that, how do you know what the steering is bloody doing when the boat jumps all over the place.... its a skiff.

And Hookster ... glad that the crowd enjoyed the 'demonstration'. That wheel stand as you describe it to get going is an essential evil. A slow take off leaves lots of oil in the back of the oil pan and besides, when you go slow you can't see ahead, so the quicker you get on the plane the safer.

Final thought.... you ar so going to get a skiff Hookster!

Great to hear Hookster... they are pretty scarce but there are still skiffs out there waiting to be found. Good luck.

Some more pictures from Goolwa have surfaced from another professional photographer.
Pity about the watermarks  I know he is only protecting his property :|

There are some real nice shots among them.

There's some great skiff shots there. Looks like Dave had Renegade fired up. Only about an inch of rudder in the water in one shot.

It's a good shot Doc - my pick of the pics is #68 Renegade and also #20 Scrubcat. I understand the need for a watermark, but man it does weird things to my eyes!
