2012 bridge to bridge

Postby bootlegger » 21 Dec 2011, 21:43

I've been asked to run some vintage boats in the bridge race first weekend in may.
T hey are talking about running our boats from sackville to windsor.
They will cover all the licence fees etc so all you need to do is make sure your boat is right for scrutineering and you have the safety gear
This isn't just for hydroplanes two runabouts have already committed to running.
They want me to run aggressor which I will if its going.
This could be awsome. A 20 km parade

How many boats can you drive at once Dave? Or are you looking for some drivers to help you :P

Yeah I put drivers in them. Usually I get the boats brought down. Hand each person the key and they are responsible for the boat for the event.

They are talking about the boats running at between 35 and 40 mph for about 18 miles (Sackville to Windsor).

I think that counts me out. If the old girl's Y block lasted the distance at those speeds, I doubt I would have enough fuel on board anyway.

Brian, first Sunday in May.

thanks greg, just put a different prop on stormy and cross fingers and toes. i guess the cooling issue may be the problem for allot of boats at speed.

should be a good run from the info ive found
