SA Wooden Boat Festival

Postby Greg » 29 Dec 2010, 16:20

The South Australian Wooden Boat festival is being staged at Goolwa on Feb 26th and 27th, 2011.

The organisers are keen to have the Club display boats at the event and are being very accommodating towards us with things like being positioned near the ramp to allow easy access in and out of the water over the weekend.

Festival admission is free for boats registered to enter before the end of January.

We are looking for people interested in attending, including from interstate and probably particularly from Victoria, so that accommodation can be arranged. If you are keen to come along to what is a great weekend, please let Paul Siddall (0419 826 377) myself (0408 937 029) know.

Refer to the website at: http://www.woodenboatfestival.com.au/

And yes, there is plenty of water there.

Hi Alan,
Anything come from the chats on Sunday?
Paul, Colin and I and families are staying in a holiday house right opposite the Goolwa Aquatic Club and boat ramp.
I lodged registration for Jayme II today.
Dig Traeger will have his Hydro "The Sting" on display and doing runs. I spoke to him today, its freshly varnished and ready to go!

I am still tryoing to get some time.

This was a great event last time I attended, particularly the power boat drive by. If there is any way possible, I'll be there.

Dave ,
I'm still trying to work it out as well, Melinda and Alex are not coming back from Tas till that Friday night. So if we can sort out the kid shuffle and transport, I'm half way there.

Thanks for the feedback.
I've spoken to one the people involved and he suggested that we register all boats we think, or hope are going to make it asap so that they're in before the deadline, even if they don't actually make it in the end.
