proposed boat raceas at Lake Nillacootie

Postby piquet95971 » 16 Jul 2010, 10:24

On another forum I was reading that the Victorian Speed Boat Club are in final stages of organising a race meeting similar to the Gold Cup at Lake Yarrawonga last year for the weekend of 03 October. This wekend is between AFL g/final and Bathurst.

Could this be the sort of event that the CAWPBA could be intersted in either supporting or putting a couple of boats on display at?

Just throwing it out there
cheers

Ill only go back to Yarra or any other meet for that matter only if they have our boats running in the water included on the program.
After driving 14 hours last year on a promise I was dissapointed at the treatment we got.
Having said all that the wooden speedboat display was one of the highlights of whole meet.

you can count me in for this weekend, my boat is living 5 mins from the lake so id certainly take it down.
i can understand why dave would be upset and ask to be in the program so that would be good but id take mine anyway due to conveniece.

any more info would be good of cause

hey greg, the day was great,
allot of people went for a look. 44 boats were racing. the 4.2 boats with 253's were great to watch with some close racing. ive spoken to brett ramsay who organised it all about next year. i mentioned a few guys would take some woodys if we had time on the water and he said he would make sure that happens.

all in all after one boat sunk to the bottom of the lake ( 22 m deep ) and the sun shone all day. ill certaily be going to a few more of these days. the guys who race are great to chat to and are more then happy to talk about thier boats.
