Glenmaggie Boat Club Retro Round 2-3 Dec 23

Postby WoodRay » 08 Aug 2023, 14:33

Stick it in your calendars people. Pending water levels at the end of the year it should be a good one. More info will be available as we progress along.

UPDATE 3/9/23 This GDBC "Retro Round" will be a two day event for the V&V wooden boats. Saturday will be the actual club day with scheduled V&V demonstration runs in the program (V&V APBA rules apply for this day only). Sunday will be the "Open water" day with V&V boats on water with no fixed schedule. Both days will also include static displays. Please make your intent known if you haven't already.

Hi Bob,
There is camping at the club, we stayed at the club last year it was good.
Don't have designated sites as such, we just "formed a circle" or square.
Cheers

Thanks Darren, that sounds like a plan.
Shame I gave all my camping stuff away when I moved.
Nah, I'll never use this stuff again. ...........

Yes as per "APBA rules" for V&V events. This is the requirement for Saturday as it's a GDBC club day. This doesn't apply for the Sunday as it will be open water and the Club day is Saturday only. This will give attendees the choice of either day or both. I will be getting my V&V licence and running my boat on the Saturday. It would be nice if we had more than one boat on the Saturday as GDBC is putting a lot of effort into hosting our boats over the weekend.

I'm not sure about running Pagan on the Saturday, i don't think it will meet V&V regs and i'm not going to try. A good run on Sunday will keep me happy

I'm seeking clarification from the APBA regarding ballistic pants, helmet restraints, etc to see what of the broader general rules for all classes actually apply to V&V.
