Response to this event has been poor so far and we are still looking for a couple more boats.

If you are still umming and arring about whether to come, please bite the bullet and let us know.

This is a really good event, one significant on the national historic vehicle event calendar, and will well be worth the trip, even if just for the Sunday. Plus, you'll get in for free if you have a boat hanging off the back.

Noticed two Skiffs testing the Speed Radar on Sunday evening in Northern Victoria . It would appear that PAGAN needed to find another 200 rpms before it would trigger all the lights and sirens surrounding the Radar unit.

Everyone who did not make Winton Historics missed a really great weekend and display off what Backyard and Pro mechanics have achieved over the years .

There is always next year , so mark in your Diary now.

Typical skiff drivers Graeme.

It certainly was a good weekend with some really incredible machinery on show (loved the 6 litre V twin, can't believe they pinged him for noise!). And then they go and race them . . .

That is a remarkable engine, that sort of engineering genius was once applied to speed boat engines when the rules were more liberal and you only needed to fit into a particular capacity between 50 ci to unlimited . The home modified and designed stuff is certainly worth a look at and aircraft based engines have always sounded great.

Winton was a great weekend, I can't recommend it highly enough. Heaps of public engagement and lots happening for us to look at as well. Special mention to Darren and Donna for the 4 plus hour drive to get there and back.....big effort! This hopefully will become a regular on the calendar. As for getting my picture taken on the trip home, I think I didn't push the boundaries. guess i'll find out in a week or two.
