Great sets of photo's all round. Very good pictorial of the weekend.

We made some progress with The Spook over the weekend. GPS peak speed reading was 172kph on Sunday morning, which was the highest GPS peak speed for the boat since I've had it on the water. Then I discovered a large crack in the prop which was a bummer, however better to discover it on the trailer than out on the water. The crew and I are now getting a better understanding of what the engine is doing, at last.

Great weekend and enjoyed being a spectator for the rest of Sunday.

Pity that I didn't get any shots of the Spook... you start too early for me Bob.

Good work finding the crack before it found you, :o
Was certainly running hard down the far end.

The crew and I were talking on the Sunday after we found the cracked prop that we need to implement an aircraft level inspection before each run. we've always informally inspected the boat during the course of each day but we now think that we should make a more formal list and go through that list before each on water session.

The sort of thing that we are talking about is what you see pilots do before they take a plane out for a flight, they give it a thorough visual once over. That was what I was doing when I found the crack. We had checked the oil level, emptied the oil catch cans, refueled, checked the ignition timing and decided that we would have a break, after about an hour or so I thought we would go back in and that was when I decided I would have one last walk around the boat before going to the ramp and found the crack in the prop.

Bob are you running a stainless prop?. I know a real good crack tester that finds the crack before you do.
I lost a blad in atomic once. It can make a mess or worse.

No, not running a stainless prop.

In any case this one is now a paper weight and I have to get a new one.

That's a great video Greg. Pity the weather closed in, he may have stayed a bit longer.
