Geelong Revival Motoring Festival

Postby Alan » 02 Aug 2015, 18:21

Hi Members,

I have received an invitation for the club to take part in the "Geelong Revival Motoring Festival" the theme this year is "Wheels, Wings and Water - taking the Festival to the sea and sky for the first time with classic motorboats and vintage fly over’s."

I am sure that this will be a great event this year they are expecting over 50,000 attendees, 300 racing entries and over 600 vehicles on display.

If you want more info have a look at this http://www.geelongrevival.com.au/

I have also attached a pdf
GRMF-Info-Pack-2015-Email.pdf
(1.69 MiB) Downloaded 470 times
with a lot of info, if you are interested you can contact them direct of through myself.

Sounds like a good thing.

Alan.

I will ask Nathan Gordon. He will be in the know as to whether we can get some time on the water. I'm not sure how close to the venue which is along the esplanade at Geelong the water is and what launching capacity is nearby.

I just had look at google earth and the sprint strip is not far from the beach and there should be some launching facilities at the nearby yacht club. By the looks of it it would probably be a no wake and an 8 knot zone. At worst it would be a no boating zone but exemptions can be applied for as the Australian Jetski Championships were held on that beach section about 8-10 years ago.

I have been told we can display on land or water, however I think that both will be stationary, and of course it's salt water.

Update, confirmed today that the on water display will be stationary.

As this is a pretty big event I think they are keen to get numbers arranged reasonably soon, so is any one interested?

Count Resurrected in. Stationary is good as it works well with the clutch.

Yes, I'll get Scrubcat out for this.
If there's some water time even better, a bit of salt water never hurt anyone!
