Heads up to those planning to stay at the Lake Talbot Tourist Park.
You might want to check your accommodation is booked and confirmed as there are new Managers and some bookings taken last year have disappeared.

Thanks for posting this Dave,
This is a good idea as it appears there has been a change in management style as well this year, if you are/were going can you please let me know (via pm or phone etc) how you have gone with the booking.

Alan
Narrandera - check Lake Talbot accommodation
Re: Narrandera - check Lake Talbot accommodation
I rebooked at the end of our weekend last year and I think they charged me 100% of the booking fee for this year. That's a 100% deposit! I'll have to check and confirm.
Re: Narrandera - check Lake Talbot accommodation
I also rebooked on departure last year, no record of any booking for this year, a very arrogant lady named Julie gave me an earfull on the phone today,so that is the end of Narrandera for us.

Re: Narrandera - check Lake Talbot accommodation
Is it worthwhile thinking of another venue such as Lake Urana. Their lake looks to be OK and the Caravan Park is on the banks of the lake?
Just a thought if the Lake Talbot people are proving difficult!

Re: Narrandera - check Lake Talbot accommodation
The lady called me early June and was very polite, I am booked for three nights and they asked for one night deposit. No problems.

I better check whats happening.
Re: Narrandera - check Lake Talbot accommodation
Yes Dave, the toilet block is reported to be gone so they could be building you new unit there.
Mine is booked, although the word polite didn't come to mind during the process, will be interesting to see what the reception is on arrival.

Re: Narrandera - check Lake Talbot accommodation
The unit we usually have was confirmed booked via email in January, by the previous Managers I think.
Mum & Dad had paid a deposit to have one of the new units last Narrandera. (The deposit amount only appeared on Dads card in February??)
Somewhere along the track it appears they moved Mum & Dads deposit to our unit which left them without any unit.
Dads first phone call was met with "we're closed, call back in the morning", and then the lady just hung up.
The next day he managed to secure a unit for them, the same one they had last year I think. He had to pay a deposit for that one too because they had used his first deposit for our unit.
They have my email address and phone number from the earlier correspondence but I was never contacted about whether there should be 2 units with our surname.
The first I heard about it was when Darren let me know.
