Corvettes at the Port

Postby DaveD » 07 Feb 2015, 18:20

A work colleague is a member of the Corvette Club of SA.
He asked me if I'd like to display 3 or 4 boats at their Corvettes at the Port event tomorrow.
I'm bringing two and there is another maybe.
If anybody is looking for something to do tomorrow, and would like to talk boats and look at some nice Corvettes, please come down to the Port with or without a boat. If you think you might like to bring a boat please let me know, doesn't have to be a Wooden boat.

Ask them if they want a special short wheelbase 66 427 corvette for their display.

In contrast to the recent SAWBF, this is the response to taking 2 boats the "Corvettes at the Port".
I was thanked by all the SA Corvette Club organisers that spoke to me, no paperwork and a mention in their newsletter, with a photo. A copy of the newsletter was given to me by my work colleague, the SA Corvette Club member who asked me originally.
Its more than likely that we'll be asked back again next year and I'll be happy to arrange some boats again if asked.

The attitude of many of the "traditional" wooden boaters is unfortunately sad but true. Luckily, we have groups such as this that realize what we have to offer and support us by having us support them, for mutual benefit. Great effort Dave.

Thanks, it was a relaxing and friendly day. Probably didn't hurt that both the boats were Chev powered although my colleague wasn't fussed if they weren't. Entry was free to the public and any money they did raise went to the Club's supported charity.
