Greg I was thinking at the moment DONT take the trailer out of the water

Fired up Turbo Fire on the trailer on Saturday - I don't think the engine has fired a shot for two maybe three years but once I primed fuel up to the carby it started in a snap. Forecast is 29 Sat and 27 Sun. Looking forward to seeing everyone on the weekend. Don't forget the AGM!

Is it worth putting a refresher up regarding NSW boating regs and minimum equipment required. The only reason I suggest this is I can't bl##dy remember what to chuck in the boat!!!

By the sound of it a firefighting pump with long pickup, would be a minimum! Pickup on the inside if going down, on the outside if going up!

What is a --Safety label ?

The safety label is just a sticker which states the maximum number of adults allowed on board according to boat length. It's just to remind the skipper of boat capacity. Cheers chris

I have just placed an inquiry with NSW Waterways to try and get clarification of the requirements to carry safety equipment on an enclosed waterway with an exclusive use aquatic license.

As the Secretary/Treasurer of a Power Boat Club I know that on race days we are not required to carry safety equipment such as paddles, bailing buckets, fire extinguishers and bilge pumps. Our race days always run with an exclusive use aquatic license and on an enclosed waterway just as this weekends event will be.

While we do have an aquatic license for the event, because we are only doing 'social boating' and don't hold any competitive events on the water, our license has always included the statement that we will run the required safety gear for that state. I don't remember this years being different, maybe Greg can have a quick check ?

Our Aquatic Licence application states:

"All boats are required to be registered and compliant with NSW Roads & Maritime Services regulations. All drivers are required to be licensed to operate a power boat in NSW waters"

Also, the Member/Participant Brief for Narrandera states:

• Drivers must be licensed to operate a recreational power boat in NSW
• Boats must be registered and comply with at least the minimum NSW Roads & Maritime Services safety equipment requirements for the waterway the craft is being operated on
• Abide by all NSW Roads & Maritime Services rules and regulations and the local rules and regulations of the waterway the craft is being operated on

We have always run this way. It's much easier than to try and work out what we need, what we don't, etc.
