Gday All
For those in SA or willing to travel.
The February Powerboat Picnic on the 22nd is going to be another twilight event.
Starting at 2pm 'till late as you like.
All powerboats are welcome to join the action.
The buoys will be out, duty boats on standby.
This is an open waters event, so standard safety gear recommended.
We would love to see you all there.
Cheers
Jeff
Goolwa Powerboat Picnic - Sat 22nd Feb
Re: Goolwa Powerboat Picnic - Sat 22nd Feb
Hey Jeff - do you know if the Goolwa event in April is closed water for 2014? I struggle with need for the anchor, bailing bucket etc in Rebound.
Thanks - Bob

Re: Goolwa Powerboat Picnic - Sat 22nd Feb
Gday Bob
The Sunday of the Aquafest is the only closed water day we have.
The Saturday of the Aquafest is open waters.
All our Powerboat Picnics are open waters, where we "recommend" you carry the safety gear for 'Protected waters'.
Our Requirements for the Aquafest is to wear a PFD & Helmet.
For vessels under 8 Meters in protected waters
* one personal flotation device (PFD) Type 1, Type 2 or Type 3 for each person on board
* one bailer with line attached or a bilge pump
* one suitable anchor with cable
* if the boat has an engine or cooking facilities, one fire extinguisher
* if the vessel is being operated between sunset and sunrise, one waterproof and buoyant torch or lantern one fire bucket
* a pair of paddles or oars (if your vessel is under six metres)
The gear can be wrapped up and cable tied in to the boat if necessary,
It just has to be on board, the law doesn't state that it has to be convenient.
Cheers

Some great pics of Rude Thommo. It seems to be riding a lot different to what it was at the last Aquafest. Wonder what Scott did to fix it?
